Adding Records for a Student

The Student table in SAM holds the relationship between all other tables in SAM (disability, accommodation, note taker… etc.). In other words, you can assign a disability, accommodation, note taker and more to a student record. This is a very common operation in SAM. To add a record for a student in SAM, follow these general steps:

  1. Navigate to the Student table located on the far left side of the menu bar.
  2. Use the search bar above the list of students to search for the student you wish to add a record to.
  3. Once you have located the student, click on the eye icon located on the far left side of the student record.
  4. You should be directed to the main student record page. Scroll to the specific record section. For example, if I wanted to add an accommodation record, I would scroll to the section titled “Accommodations”.
  5. Immediately under the section title, is a link label “Add” a record for that student.
  6. Clicking this link will take you to a page to the main page for that record. Use this page to fil the record.
  7. When you are finished, click on the green Save button.
