Research at the Intersection of Inclusive Design & Human Experience
The Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation embodies Georgia Tech's vision to become "an example of inclusive innovation" by ensuring technology is accessible. As part of the College of Design, we leverage universal design practices to transform how people experience technology, environments, and everyday life—with decades of disability expertise at the center.
We help advance Georgia Tech and the College’s commitment to:
Make Technology Broadly Accessible
Removing barriers that exclude 1 in 4 Americans with disabilities, including in emerging technologies leveraging AI.
Use Human-Centered Design
Advancing technology design practices that center and are driven by people with disabilities.
Improve the Human Condition
Engaging communities in Georgia, US and globally to advance accessible technologies to improve the human condition.
Aligning with the College of Design & Georgia Tech
CIDI explores the ways that people engage with the world by centering those whose experiences have been historically excluded from design processes, including people with disabilities who are expert designers of their own lives. In doing so, we help create a community of learning, discovery and creation that empowers people of all backgrounds.
