Social engagement is an important component of aging well. Unfortunately, many older adults are at risk of social isolation, which in turn has been linked to declines in cognitive health. This project is looking at the impact of online games on feelings of social connection for older adults with and without Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Our team has partnered with OneClick, an online videoconferencing platform designed to be easy to use by older adults. Together, we are testing adapted, accessible versions of familiar, social games (like Uno and Connect 4) that have been integrated into OneClick’s online platform to enhance social engagement with friends and family members online!

This project is a continuation of a seed grant project with the Cognitive Empowerment Program.
