Dr. Michelle L. Ramsey is a Research Associate I at CIDI with over 25 years of experience in behavior analysis, special education, and urban leadership with a strong commitment to inclusive design and innovation. Michelle's career has been dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through education, research, and advocacy. With over 20 years of experience in education, she has served as a teacher, behavior analyst, consultant, professor, and associate undergraduate department chair. Her work has spanned a variety of settings, including public schools, residential facilities, and higher education institutions.
Throughout her career, Michelle has demonstrated a commitment to inclusive practices, evidence-based interventions, and culturally responsive pedagogy. Michelle combines her expertise in applied behavior analysis, educational research, and teacher education that makes a lasting impact on the field of assistive technology. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Education and Treatment for Children and Teaching Exceptional Children, where she has explored topics such as the effectiveness of function-based choice-making interventions for students with emotional/behavioral disorders, the importance of peer-assisted learning strategies, and the impact of teacher efficacy on classroom structure.
